Ridgewater homes disappointed us in every way. our heritage and sustainable project, which we call hammond forever house, is the first step in what we hope will be a community retrofit project. we hoped our contractor might join us on that journey, but we will have to find another company for the next phase. ridgewater gave us a fixed quote but before they were finished they demanded we pay far above it without any reasonable justification. we thought we agreed change orders were required, but the costs went up without any change orders. we were asked to pay in advance. we were overcharged for labour. the work was substandard. our engineer noted serious structural deficiencies which we had to correct at additional cost. the invoices contain several errors. for example, ridgewater invoiced us over $11,000 for “blutec rentals” with no explanation. we later found out that the owner of ridgewater also owns blutec. ridgewater failed to pay subcontractors and suppliers even after we had paid them. we have repeatedly asked for details, but ridgewater has refused to offer any explanation or to enter into binding arbitration. instead, they have taken us to court. i cannot recommend this company to anyone.
